How do you get primary school kids excited about reading books? You send a fluffy one eyed space alien to tell them all about it. Commissioned by the WA State Government and created in collaboration with Gatecrasher Advertising, Dewey is the official mascot for the Premier's Reading Challenge. This literacy incentive program uses character driven storytelling to make reading a fun and rewarding adventure for children across Western Australia.

3D Character Animation for the Premier's Reading Challenge
We took Dewey from a simple concept to a fully realised 3D character bursting with personality. Our team handled the entire 3D production pipeline from scratch. We built the core character model, painted the vibrant textures, set up the studio lighting, and crafted a highly detailed fur groom to make him look incredibly soft and huggable. Once the character was built, we created a custom animation rig to give him the bouncy and expressive movements needed to capture the imagination of a young audience.

Scaling 3D assets for print and digital screens.
A great mascot needs to look perfect no matter where a kid spots them. We optimised our lighting and render setups so Dewey would look fantastic across a massive variety of campaign touchpoints. Our high-resolution 3D outputs were utilised for engaging online content as well as physical print media. We delivered crystal-clear assets that popped vibrantly on classroom posters, informational flyers, and highly coveted reward stickers.
